Please could anyone tell what depth must the foundations be if i build a garden shed with blocks if the the building is about 30 sq m and 2m high with a slopping wood. I'm thinking of building a brick shed myself with help from family and friends. the shed is going to be 4.7 metres wide, 3metres wide and 2.5 metres high. the shed would have a flat roof would i need planning permission. i have spoken to both my neighbours and they have no issues with building the shed.. Hi, foundations should always be dug 900mm - 1m in depth. these can either be 450mm wide if you fill them to the top with concrete, or, 600mm wide with 225mm of concrete in the trench bottom. we always find the first option the most cost effective..
What needs to be the depth of my slab and foundations and how wide can the foundation trench around it to have the least unused space between the border and the shed? the shed will be 8.5m x 3.5m. 2) do i continue to build the outer brick wall on top of the bricks i used to keep the dpm stuck to the slab?. Not depth but firmness is the requirement. if you embed iron mesh into the slab of cement to produce reinforced concrete then the base (foundation) need only be three inches thick. the idea is to stop one half of the brickwall subsiding.. My footings for a brick built garage, same dimensions are 750mm deep with 500mm of concrete with one row of blocks bringing them back up to ground level..
